Foam strip made of polyethylene, also known as foundation seal, used as insulation between the foundation and the bottom sill.
The foam polyethylene material used in the foundation seal withstands temperatures ranging from -40°C to +95°C and resists most chemicals commonly used in construction. Its strength properties, elongation at break, and tear resistance are of a high standard. Thanks to its thermal insulation properties, elasticity, and water resistance, the foundation seal is suitable for varying moisture conditions.
The foundation seal is most commonly used as thermal and moisture insulation between the foundation and the bottom sill. Other applications include sealing various parts of the building, such as between wall structures, window and door frames, wall panels, the subfloor, and load-bearing walls. It also accommodates variable manufacturing and installation tolerances in building elements and serves to reduce structure-borne noise.
