Expanding compound for non-explosive and vibration-free rock breaking.
CRAS is a compound based on a powerful chemical reaction that generates sufficient pressure to split rocks and concrete. Compared to ordinary dynamite, the advantage of snail dynamite is its availability, as the use of CRAS expanding compound does not require purchase or usage permits, nor does it require notification of hazardous blasting work.
CRAS expanding compound splits

Usage of snail dynamite
Drill hole size: 25-70 mm.
The material to be split must be above +°C.
The work area should be isolated, as the splitting pressure may release rock fragments.
Mix the compound with 30% water. Always use the coldest water possible.
Place the mixed compound into the hole within 15 minutes of mixing.
Cover the holes from sunlight and rain. Do not pour CRAS into a warm hole, e.g., one warmed by the sun.
Never look directly into a filled hole, wait 6-8 hours.
On warm summer days, filling must be done early in the morning when it is still cool. If the temperature of the compound rises quickly, there is a risk that the compound will overflow from the hole, known as “blowout,” which can create dust. For this reason, cover the holes with a damp jute sack or similar as a precaution. Do not use glass or metal containers with a tapered opening.
