The cables are based on self-regulating technology, where the power automatically adjusts according to the temperature at different points of the cable. The cable never overheats, even if installed crosswise.
The maximum circuit length for a self-regulating heating cable is 100 m with a single power supply. The cable operates on household electricity and has two conductors with a size of 3×1.5 mm². The cable used by Meltex has a power of 10 W/m. Each 100-meter circuit requires its own 10 A fuse.
