Geotextiles
The world’s northernmost and Finland’s only geotextile production facility is located in Central Finland, in Jyväskylä. MELTEX manufactures geotextiles at its factory in Jyväskylä for the demanding conditions of the North, offering various sizes and quality grades.
Production method
The geotextile is produced from polypropylene fiber using the needle punching method, where the fiber is first carded, then needle-punched, and finally heat-treated. The result is a strong and flexible geotextile with top-tier properties.
The geotextiles manufactured by MELTEX are UV-stabilized and exhibit excellent resistance to acids and solvents. The lifespan of the geotextiles is at least 100 years.
No adhesives or other bonding agents are used in the production of the geotextiles, allowing the product to be recycled and reused.
