Insulated pipe systems

MELTEX manufactures insulated pipes in Sipoo for various applications. Our product range includes suitable products for heating and cooling networks, hot water distribution, and frost-free water supply lines. We have been selling our insulated pipes for over 30 years, not only in Finland but also to Greenland and other Nordic countries.

Materials

The products feature a corrugated protective shell made of polyethylene, ensuring a durable structure for the pipes and enhancing the product’s flexibility.

We primarily use cross-linked closed-cell PEX foam as insulation for the pipes, which provides excellent thermal insulation properties and a flexible structure. The insulation is not attached to the protective or flow pipe, allowing for unrestricted thermal expansion of the pipe without compromising the insulation or protective shell. This ensures that the pipe systems we manufacture maintain good insulation properties over the long term.

For the channel pipes intended for hot water distribution, we use domestically manufactured pressure pipes made from polyethylene as the flow pipes. These pipes meet the requirements of standard EN 12201 and are Nordic Poly Mark certified, ensuring that no taste or harmful substances leach into the water.

In the pipe systems designed for heating networks and hot water distribution, the flow pipes are made of cross-linked PEX-A or PEX-C pipe. The pipes intended for heating networks are always protected against oxygen diffusion.
