Bitumen sealing products for moisture and waterproofing.
Waterproofing or water pressure insulation is used on the external surface of basements’ ground-contacting exterior walls to prevent the harmful penetration of surrounding soil moisture and surface and meltwater into the structure. Depending on the moisture content of the building site’s soil and the intended use of the indoor spaces, moisture insulation or bitumen sheet waterproofing is used. For moisture insulation, bitumen solution is applied as a bonding layer followed by double-layer hot bitumen.
Radon is a dangerous, invisible, and odorless noble gas found in soil. Radon is released into the air especially from well-aerated soils such as gravel and sand ridges. Radon-laden soil air penetrates basements and homes mainly through the building’s subfloor and cracks between the foundation and the ground-supported slab.
